Almost brand new GTI
on Yesterday at 04:23:50 pm
Maybe for somebody who’s Looking for a GTI

I don’t know how this works but a YouTuber “Saving Salvage”
is giving a GTI away on “Compete for cars”
Looks like it has been in a timecapsule…
Don’t shoot me of how this “Compete stuff” is working😅
Hopefully sombody can be the owner of this nice & clean example 😎👍🏻

For some reason I can’t upload a screenshot of it on here now?!?🙄
Go check it out on YouTube…

Really need to test voltages and earths when it's faulting. Learn how to do volt drop testing on the main cables.

Have seen the earth strap fail from the gearbox to chassis before but I guess that would be a permanent fault - worth checking though.

Here'#039s a list of all door controllers and what they are. I dont remember which PN is pre or post 2007 anymore since it'#039s been a while since I worked with them but I dont think they did any gen 1'#039s and 2'#039s post 2007. Gen 2 high should be pre 2007 and support power folding.

I did remove and clean a VNT 1.9 TDI turbo years ago that had sticking vanes on a Ford Galaxy with the VAG 1.9 lump , nothing needed setting up.

Re: Track day car - weird problem losing water (castle combe Tuesday)
Last Poster: Dannyvegas79 in How to Guides / Troubleshooting on October 02, 2025, 06:31:23 pm
The car is new to me so not sure when it was last bled or worked on. The amount I topped up each time was at least 1litre though and I did that at least 4 times! I am guessing the cooling system capacity is not a huge amount more than that? Cheers for the suggestion though. Is it generally a tricky car to bleed?

Eibach Pro Springs on MK7.5 GTI Performance (2019) – Experiences & Alternatives?
Last Poster: Husy in Mk7 General Area on October 02, 2025, 10:40:27 am
Hey everyone, thinking of upgrading the stock springs on my 2019 Golf 7.5 GTI Performance (front & rear) to Eibach Pro (slightly lowered). Has anyone tried this setup? If so, what’s the ride like, especially over bad roads / speed bumps? And if you’d recommend something else that gives a similar drop without spending too much, I’m all ears.

I always get OEM  for the cam belt kits I used over the years......I use TPS who supply the main dealers.

The belts used to be made by Continental not sure about the pumps and pulleys etc.

Good looking GTi, you could copy and paste your mk5 story for mine, as I took the plunge 12 months ago and have been on the same restoration/modifying route as you.
As far as exhaust noise goes - I fitted a Malian 3” non res cat back and was impressed not only with the noise - just the right amount of burble without being obnoxious, but also the build quality. Especially give

Bit of a late response but i hate seeing no conclusion to threats so here it is.

On my weeks of i started with maintenance. Did an oil change and noticed a bunch of metal in my oil. I got it checked out at a specialist and turns out inlet camsheft and the parts around it(rockers etc?) where worn and it needed a revision. Got a quote of 3200k euro for full head revision a

I’ve been having a hard start issue and it’s kinda got me stumped. Only hard starts after it’s been ran that day and other than tha runs and drives great. First start in the morning starts instantly, if I turn it off and turn it right back on starts instantly only when it’s sat a few minutes it hard stays. I replace LPFP and fuel filter because

I would look into the ignition switch as there common for failing and I doing so the fault list as variable in nature.

Highline clock retrofit disaster

Hello,

i tried retrofitting highline clocks into my gti which originally has midline display.
the original was for a manual trans and displays km/h (1K6 920 860 EX). The new one is from an australian automatic car with the mph and kmh clock face (1K6920 974A). After replacement, immo and mileage adaptation the car starts and drives.
I have changed the clock fa

Hey everyone, thanks for the input. I picked up a TRW in red from Autodoc. They had both new and refurbished, but since it was only £20 more, I went for new. Came to £92 incl. VAT. The TRW part code if anyone needs it BHN951 (NSR).
